What I find particularly fascinating about these photos is that they also tell a story of US cosmic colonial dominance, a dominance that is waning and being supplanted by other developing nations.
Space exploration feels like the ultimate demonstration of world-power status. This exhibition is like a paean to the fading might of US colonial powers.
