Interesting infographic looking at how social media is impacting the advertising industry. Especially interesting to see that Q3 2011 social media spending is almost on par with Spot TV spend.
Average Day on Facebook
A couple of interesting things I take from this infographic:
- The average age is getting older, and is significantly older than most would expect at 38
- That on average we have never met 7% of our friends is an opportunity. If brands can facilitate people meeting those 7% face-to-face then they can play in the space where real relationships are formed.
I’d love to see something like this much more focused on interactions between people and brands - if you’ve seen data on that then please let me know.
