The Sydney Story Factory is the best thing to happen to Sydney in a while. As this video succinctly and creatively explains, it’s goal is to help nurture the creativity in children, and give them the skills and confidence required to express themselves.
It follows the success of the original concept, 826 Valencia (Dave Eggers’ TED Talk is the best use of 17 minutes I’ve found on the Internet so far) and more recent examples, such as The Ministry of Stories in Hoxton, London.
One goal of mine in 2012 is to develop my writing skills so that I am able to volunteer my time and make a difference at this amazing organisation.
