The beginning of something beautiful?

My interest in blogging started as me reaching out to individual bloggers for submissions while working as an online editor.

And now I’ve almost come almost full circle as I begin my own foray into blogging.

In fact, Kate Kendall (aka The Zeitgeists) – the new online editor of marketingmag.com.au – has asked me to start blogging for the website, so it looks like the loop will be closed pretty soon. I’ll let you know when I get started.

So why Come Together?

  • Because here is where all my random thoughts will hang out and jostle for space
  • Because I’d love for other people to congregate around some of the musings
  • Because I love thinking about and writing about community and people coming together
  • Because the Beatles wrote a really great song, which I’ve always loved, never really understood and always been happy for it to stay that way.

I’ll leave you with an amazing cover version of the Fab Four’s original. It’s an original performance by the insanely talented Sungha Jung. It’s fascinating to see how a platform like YouTube can turn one person’s exceptional talent into a mass broadcast opportunity capable of creating an audience. The jury is still out on how well YouTube helps Sungha move from creating a mass audiences to managing a mass-participation community, but those and other community musings are for later posts.

For now, just enjoy this sublime cover version:

  • Now Scott... about that blogging! When are you keen to get it pumping! ;-)
